Experience the elegance and beauty of beaded jewelry handcrafted by the Huichol people of Mexico at The Huichol Center for Cultural Survival.
The artisans lovingly handbead each piece, delighting in vibrant colors and intricate designs. Holding strong to their native cultural traditions, the Huichol - a deeply religious people - imbue each piece with sacred symbols and spiritual purpose.
Their beadwork supports the work of The Huichol Center for Cultural Survival, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the Huichols' cultural heritage in the face of the demands of the modern world.
As the outside world encroaches on their homeland in the Sierra Madre mountain range, the Center works to preserve the cultural legacy of this tribe of healers and artisans. |
